| Most water damage doesn’t start with a flood. It starts with something small that nobody thought to check.
Here’s a Win It Wednesday challenge. Grab a coffee and take 10 minutes to look at a few spots around your house:
âś…The hose behind your washing machine and dishwasher
âś…The little water line feeding your fridge or ice maker
✅Under every sink (out of sight shouldn’t mean out of mind)
âś…Around your water heater
âś…Your gutters, so water has somewhere to go
âś…The ground around your foundation, which should slope away from the house
I say this not to worry anyone, just because a small drip is a lot easier to deal with than a big surprise.
Here’s the part most people don’t realize. Whether water damage is covered depends on your policy and on how the water got there. A sudden, accidental leak is often treated differently than a slow one that went unnoticed, and things like sewer or drain backup may need a specific add-on. Coverage varies, so it’s worth knowing what yours says before you need it.
Not sure what your policy says? Call or message me and we’ll look at it together.
