Good morning and happy throwback Thursday!!

Ever wonder why the ’80s looked like they were turned up to full volume?

The decade traded muted earth tones for electric blue, hot pink, neon lime, vivid orange, and sunny yellow; often mixed with bold stripes, dots, and sharp geometric shapes.

Much of that look came from the Memphis design movement, launched in Italy by Ettore Sottsass in 1980, which challenged minimalism with playful color clashes and unapologetic personality.

By the mid-’80s, the style had jumped from furniture and fashion into TV, ads, music, and pop culture—and it still feels impossible to ignore today.

Be eighties today, be bright, bold and electric!!!

This is a handsome late-19th- or early-20th-century brick residence with a prominent corner turret, porch columns, and stained-glass detailing; features that reflect the historic, turn of the century residential character found around Lincoln Square and Montrose.

Lincoln Square developed from farmland near Montrose and Clark after Swiss immigrant Conrad Sulzer acquired land there in 1836, helping establish the area that later grew into one of Chicago’s distinctive North Side neighborhoods.
