⚠️ HURRICANE WATCHES are now in effect for the majority of the coastline. Tropical Storm Watches are in effect along the Deep South coastline and the Upper TX Coast (Bolivar Peninsula to Sabine Pass). We officially have Tropical Storm as of 10 AM CT with max sustained winds of 50mph. The official forecast has it quickly reaching hurricane strength sometime tomorrow.

The eastward shift in the track luckily means less of an impact for Texas. This could be a doozy for parts of Louisiana, however. Rainfall totals are decreasing for Texas, but still may be problematic at times on the immediate coastline. We can still expect 3-5” there over the next few days. Moderate rainfall has already started in Brownsville and SPI. Gale-force winds, rip tides and tidal flooding will be the primary risks for Texas unless we see any of Francine’s outer bands go tornadic.
