For the first time since the Arts Education for All Act was introduced in 2021, it now has a Senate companion bill!

As a member of the Arts Education Alliance, EdTA is proud to support this legislation. The bill aims to improve access to high-quality arts education and programming across the country by:

▪️Improving arts programming in caregiving and early education
▪️Providing support for arts access in K–12 schools
▪️Prioritizing professional development for arts educators
▪️Increasing the usability and accessibility of data on access to arts education
▪️Integrating arts education into afterschool and summer learning programs
▪️Facilitating arts education within the justice system
▪️Supporting the use of arts education in reentry and recidivism-reduction efforts

We are so excited for this new Era!

We’re thrilled to announce that Jay Gerlach has been appointed Executive Director of the Educational Theatre Association (EdTA) and President of the Educational Theatre Foundation (ETF)!

A lifelong Thespian and former theatre educator, school administrator, and district leader, Jay brings a deep understanding of the students, educators, and communities at the heart of our work.

Since stepping into the role of Interim Executive Director in March, Jay has made listening, collaboration, and student voice central to his leadership. We’re excited to have him lead EdTA into its next chapter and help build an even more connected Association.

Please join us in officially welcoming Jay to the role! 🎭
