KY 33 (Troy Pike) will be closed Wednesday, Aug. 26, from midnight to 8:30 a.m. for cross drain repairs.

🔸 KY 33 will be closed at MP 6.4 near Fords Mill Road to MP 7.9 near Delaney Ferry Road
🔸 Alternate route: KY 1965 (Fords Mill Road)

Motorists should use extra caution and use an alternate route during the closure.

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HAS ISSUED A HEAT ADVISORY FROM MONDAY, JUNE 29, AT 12:00 PM UNTIL THURSDAY, JULY 2, AT 9:00 PM.

June 29, 2026 -- There is hot, and then there is hot! Extreme heat is a period of high heat and humidity with temperatures above 90 degrees for at least two to three days. In extreme heat your body works extra hard to maintain a normal temperature, which can lead to death. Extreme heat is responsible for the highest number of annual deaths among all weather-related hazards.

Never leave people or pets in a closed car on a warm day.
Take cool showers or baths.
Wear loose, lightweight, light-colored clothing.
Drink plenty of fluids to stay hydrated.

Please be patient and allow for some extra time in your commute this morning as crews work to clear downed trees and utility lines from Woodford County roadways. As a reminder, never approach downed utility lines and if you encounter high water, turn around, don’t drown.

We have received reports of an unmarked gray Dodge Charger (with red and blue lights) conducting traffic stops in Scott County. The occupants thankfully fled without approaching the vehicles they stopped.

The majority of our fleet is marked with “Sheriff” on the side and our unmarked fleet will always have blue lights only, never red.

Just a reminder, if you are being pulled over by a suspicious vehicle you are well within your rights to dial 911 to confirm the legitimacy of the stop, and we suggest you do so.
