When I signed up for a dance competition, I had no idea what I was getting into.

Honestly, the part that intimidated me most was learning to dance.

But a funny thing happened…

Growth happens when you say yes — even to the dance floor. I’m excited to share that I’ve officially signed on to dance in the 2026 Dancing with Vero’s Stars to raise money for Indian River County Healthy Start

Over the next 8 months, I’ll be training with professional dance instructor Karen Walter as we get ready to hit the stage on May 16, 2026.

Healthy Start is an incredible organization that partners with families—offering emotional and material support to young moms and dads right here in our community.

I’ll be sharing the journey as we go… from two left feet to (hopefully!) a few fancy moves. Let’s do this together! 💙

Today we ran the Tunnel to Towers 5K alongside hundreds in our community and thousands across the country. This race honors the heroes who laid down their lives serving others on September 11, 2001.

Isaac became a firefighter in January and a paramedic in August—and today he ran the 5K in full gear, finishing first among those running in gear. I couldn’t be prouder. I’m also grateful to run these races together, even if it means getting my butt kicked by the same kids I used to “take it easy” on.

The race was founded by the family of Stephen Siller, an off-duty firefighter on 9/11. On his way to a golf game, he heard the news, turned around, suited up, and ran through the tunnel toward the towers to help. He gave the ultimate sacrifice that day.

As a civilian, I’m inspired by that courage and reminded that even though I’m not on duty, I can still show up every day with my best—to serve, to love my neighbors, and to live with purpose. It truly is better to give than to receive.

Thank you to all who serve.
