🎄 “The Christmas Emergency That Wasn’t”
So there I was on Christmas Eve, phone fully charged, coffee in hand, thinking,
“Maybe… just maybe… tonight will be quiet.”
Nope.
Phone rings.
I answer in full professional mode — calm, serious, ready for anything.
The caller is panicked.
“I NEED HELP RIGHT NOW. IT’S AN EMERGENCY.”
Heart rate up. Christmas spirit temporarily paused.
I ask, “Okay, what happened?”
They say,
“Well… my cousin might be getting arrested… but not yet… but we just want to be ready… just in case… because it is Christmas.”
I pause.
I look at the Christmas tree.
I look at my wife.
I look back at the phone.
And I realize —
this is the most Christmas bail call ever.
No one’s in jail.
No charges filed.
No handcuffs.
Just holiday anxiety, too much tamales, and one uncle who talks too loud.
So I reassure them, explain everything, wish them a Merry Christmas…
and hang up smiling.
Because if there’s one thing Christmas teaches us, it’s this:
🎁 Family will stress you out.
🎄 Food will disappear.
📱 And someone will always call “just in case.”
Merry Christmas — and yes… I’m still answering the phone 🎅📞
