Today we remember Roy Young — a great fisherman, loyal friend, devoted family man, and proud member of Sandhills Bassmasters. Roy’s love for the water, early mornings on the lake, and the camaraderie of tournament days will never be forgotten.
More importantly, Roy loved the Lord and lived his life with kindness, humility, and faith. His steady spirit and caring heart touched everyone who knew him. Whether he was helping a fellow fisherman, sharing a fishing story, or simply enjoying God’s creation on the water, Roy carried himself with grace and gratitude.
The lakes won’t feel the same without him, but his memories will live on in every cast, every sunrise over the water, and every member of the Sandhills Bassmaster family who had the privilege to know him.
Rest easy, Roy. May the waters always be calm and the fish always be biting.
