When you apply for a home loan, you will be asked to list your current liabilities. Liabilities for a loan means money or debt that you owe that may be short-term or long-term including credit card balances, car loans, student loans, etc.

When you apply for a home loan, you will be asked to list your current assets. An asset is anything you own that has a cash value. Common assets include cash, retirement accounts, stocks, real estate such as your current home or rental properties, and cryptocurrency.
