Had the opportunity recently to volunteer at Kairospdx, a nonprofit public charter school in North Portland. We got to cheer on the students during their team races on a sunny Friday and hand out Recess bags, providing food for students and their families for the weekend.

Each year, Safeway stores collect donations and use the money to buy turkey dinners for families who cannot afford to buy their own for the holidays. Each Safeway/Albertsons division partners with local food banks and non-profit organizations to ensure the money raised stays within the local community.

This year, our branch was able to help feed 10 local families!
