Let me go on the record and say this, Obama screwed seniors with the Affordable Care Act. I have been offering Medicare Part D plans since they came out in 2006. Part of the AFA is the closing of the coverage gap in Medicare Part D by the year 2020. Well the closing of the that coverage gap has officially caught up with us folks. 2027 Part D plans are absolutely awful. If your medications do not fall in the lines of the 4 plans under $26, you are screwed. There was a time, no plans weren't even close to $80. Now they go all the way up to $225. Many plans have already been eliminated with only 8 plans available in my surrounding counties. Mark my words, many carriers will continue to bow out of the market (just like they did with Obamacare) and you the consumer are left with hardly nothing to choose from. I am absolutely sickened by the entire thing. People will just throw up the middle finger because the plans are too expensive and just say, I will just pay cash for my meds. Just you wait.

Starting January 1, 2026, Indiana residents with a Medicare Supplement (Medigap) policy can use a "[Birthday Rule]" to switch plans without medical underwriting. This allows switching to a new plan with equal or lesser benefits within 60 days of your birthday—30 days before and 30 days after—without health questions, denial, or higher premiums.
