While natural disasters can bring out the best in a community with neighbors helping neighbors. Please remember it also brings outsiders to our area looking to profit off the chaos.

We want to remind everyone that non local contractors will be coming into our area posing as insurance adjusters or readily available contractors willing to help out.

Unfortunately with these come high pressure tactics, inaccurate information and unrealistic prices. Please remember to talk with you local insurance agents and work with local contractors. If you need help identifying a licensed/valid contractor the Malheur County Building Department has offered up their services to eliminate unlicensed and predatory contractors working in our area.

In light of our current heat wave, the Vale Community Coalition is pleased to sponsor 100 entry fees for open swim at the Vale City Pool! Additional generous sponsors have volunteered to cover 200 more entry fees! If you would like to help make open swim available to all members of our community over the next several days, donations can be made at the Vale City Pool, or via Venmo . The cost of entry is $4 per person.

It has been brought to our attention that we have some predatory insurance claim contractors working their way through Vale after yesterdays hail storm. Their tactics are to insinuate they are there on behalf of your insurance company and will inspect your property and help turn in any storm claims to on your behalf.
The issue is they are contractors from out of the area using a storm to slide in and get you to sign a contract to pay them to fix the damage. They use high pressure tactics to get you to sign up with them.
If you do believe you have storm damage please call your insurance agent directly and use a local contractor you can trust to do a good job and also be there in the future to warranty their work.
An insurance company will never send an adjuster to your house without it being prompted by you and or your agent.

We live in one of the best communities in the world. However we currently have a couple bad guys in our midst . Its time to pull keys from vehicles, lock down trailers and dust off your trail cameras and set them up. We have had a rash of thefts the last few weeks. Secure your property, watch out for each other and report any issues. Hopefully the Sheriff's Office can get this crime ring shut down with our help.
