Individuals or organizations that are applying for the acquisition of property must demonstrate that they can make the necessary comm

The Urban Renewal Agency accomplishes our mission by:
• Actively marketing and selling tax-foreclosed and donated properties within the Urban Renewal Target Area
• Thoughtful planning of neighborhood development to assure revitalization of the community
• Encouraging private individuals and businesses to become neighborhood stakeholders in sustainable residential, commercial, industrial and/or mixed use development
• Enhancing marketability of the Urban Renewal Target Area through aesthetic and structural improvements
• Conducting Agency led redevelopment projects through selective acquisition and sale of property
• Land banking of strategic parcels of land for future development

Did you know that prior to an annexation in 1904, Utica only extended as far south as Pleasant Street? Most of the land farther south, including where Conkling Park was eventually developed, was then part of New Hartford.
