Is inflation finally dropping? Here is what the Fed's next move means for your wallet. ππ°
The latest economic data is in, and it's a mixed bag. Inflation cooled down slightly in April, but the numbers the Federal Reserve actually cares about are still stubbornly high at 3.3, well above their 2% comfort zone.
Right now, the Fed is stuck in a massive balancing act. On one hand, high prices and global tensions mean they want to keep interest rates high. On the other hand, the job market is cooling off, which usually means they should cut rates to help the economy.
All eyes are now on the upcoming mid-June meeting, which will be the very first test for the new Fed Chair.
