A Dream Still Standing

Today we honor the dream of Martin Luther King Jr.—
not as a relic,
not as a museum piece,
but as a living measure of where we stand.

Yes, doors have opened.
Yes, laws have changed.
And yet—

Women marked as Black,
women marked as Native,
women marked as other—

any woman,
any human being
with a melanated appearance,
any shade of brown,
any visible difference—

a target is placed on your back.

Not by accident.
Not by coincidence.
But by design.

Let’s be clear.

There is no such thing as “Black” or “White.”
There is only human.

These labels were invented—
a lie turned into law,
a fiction turned into structure,
a story repeated until
an entire system was built upon it.

And the impact of that lie
is exactly where we are today.

From the moment the first African woman
was forced off a slave ship,
her body made the system profitable,
her children made bo***ge generational,
and she was placed at the bottom—
not by lack of worth,
but by design.

And the Native women
who were already here
were erased—
erased in law,
erased in record,
erased by construct.

The Plecker legacy in Virginia
made that erasure official,
attempting to legislate Native women
and entire tribes out of existence.

And still—

women targeted by racial construct,
women marked by melanation,
women carrying visible difference—

we are credentialed.
We are seasoned.
We are proven.

Yet we are labeled angry
for refusing abuse.
Punished
for disengaging from disrespect.
Erased
when we choose dignity over disorder.

Invisible in classrooms.
Disposable in workplaces.
Undervalued even when overqualified.

Pushed out, not because of error,
not because of incompetence,
but because our mere presence is treated as a threat
and an offense, even when we’ve done nothing wrong.

Let me remind you:

The Bible says the first shall be last
and the last shall be first.

And it is our time to be first.
And we shall be first.

Because God is preparing a table for us
in the presence of our enemies—
be careful that you do not become one.

And yet—
here is what history also records:

We do not disappear.
We adapt.
We organize.
We rise.

Removing us from institutions
will never remove our influence.
Undermining our labor
will never diminish our brilliance
or our ability to acquire provision.

If the dream was justice,
know this:

Pushing us out
was not just a mistake—
it was the most pivotal mistake
that could have ever been made.

Because pressure does not break us.
It aligns us.

What was meant to silence
has clarified purpose.
What was meant to erase
has accelerated destiny.

We rise—
not by permission,
not by chance,
but by design.

Get ready.
Because we always win.

We’re in our Soft Girl Era, and let’s be clear—it’s not about weakness.
It’s about mastery.
It’s about impact.
It’s about walking in a room and shifting the atmosphere—without raising your voice.

We’re done glorifying exhaustion.
We’re done proving ourselves through burnout.
Now?
We’re choosing ease.
We’re choosing healing.
We’re choosing to lead, build, love, and command—from our feminine core.

Because here’s the truth:
You cannot enter your soft girl era until you heal.
You can’t dominate in peace until you are emotionally balanced.
You won’t radiate power until you’ve faced your pain.

This era requires:
• Emotional intelligence.
• Spiritual alignment.
• Nervous system regulation.
• Unshakable boundaries.
• Overflowing grace.

Your presence will speak for you.
Your frequency will shift spaces.
And your impact will reach places your words never could.

So let’s go, Ladies.
Let’s heal,
Let’s grow,
Let’s thrive.

This is your Soft Life Era.
And it’s time to master it.

“The Love Affair With Beautiful Shoes”

There’s something magical about slipping into a pair of beautiful shoes.

It’s not just about fashion—it’s about feeling.
The way a pointed toe says “power.”
The way a stiletto whispers “grace.”
The way a perfectly arched heel lifts more than your height—it lifts your mood.

Beautiful shoes are more than accessories—they’re expressions.
Of who you are.
Of where you’re going.
Of how you intend to walk into a room—and command it without saying a word.

Every pair has a story.
The sleek n**e pumps you wore to the job interview that changed everything.
The glittering sandals that danced with you under city lights.
The bold red heels you wore when you finally said, “I’m done playing small.”

To love shoes is to love yourself—in motion.
It’s to honor the journey, and the feet that carried you through it.

So yes, I buy the shoes.
Not because I need them.
But because every time I wear them, I remember who I am—and where I’m headed.

And darling, I plan to arrive in style.
