October is Cybersecurity Awareness Month—a great reminder that small steps can make a big difference in protecting your organization.

Cyber risks can impact daily operations, member data, financial systems, and public trust. Encourage staff to stay alert by using strong passwords, enabling multi-factor authentication, watching for phishing emails, keeping software updated, and reporting suspicious activity right away.

Take the next step in strengthening your cyber defenses—visit the Resource eLibrary’s Cyber Portal for practical training and resources designed to help protect your operations. Need assistance accessing the portal? Reach out to Nilsa Quandt, your Member Services Coordinator, at [email protected] and use the subject line “Resource eLibrary Access.”

A little prevention goes a long way in helping protect your team, your systems, and the communities you serve.

Fire Prevention Week is October 4–10!

This year’s theme, “Charge Into Fire Safety™: Safe Charging Is a Superpower,” highlights the importance of safer charging habits at work and at home.

Rechargeable devices are part of everyday life, but using and charging them safely can help reduce the risk of lithium-ion battery fires.

Take a moment to review safe charging practices with your team and encourage everyone to stay alert for damaged, overheating, or improperly used devices.

A few simple charging habits can help protect your staff, facilities, and community.

September is National Preparedness Month, and this year's theme is "Americans Stand Ready."

Preparedness starts with small, practical steps, such as reviewing emergency plans, updating contact information, checking supplies, and ensuring staff understand their roles before an emergency happens.

For IPARKS members, this is a great reminder to review procedures for facilities, programs, parks, trails, maintenance operations, and community events.

If you haven't had a chance to read yesterday's preparedness e-blast, now is a great time to revisit it and discuss emergency readiness with your team. Taking a few small steps today can make a big difference when it matters most.

Labor Day Weekend is Almost Here!

As we head into a busy holiday weekend, IPARKS thanks the employees, volunteers, and partners who help create safe and welcoming experiences for their communities. Yesterday, we shared a few last-minute safety reminders for high-traffic areas, and we encourage everyone to keep safety top of mind as residents gather to enjoy parks and recreational facilities.

Wishing everyone a safe, enjoyable, and relaxing Labor Day weekend!

Back-to-school is back in motion! 🎒

As IPARKS members shift from summer programming to after-school activities, it’s a good time to refocus on facility safety, and safe movement around busy areas.

IPARKS Safety Tip: Before programs begin, walk the area to check playground equipment, drop-off zones, walkways, and sightlines so staff can help guide children safely and respond to concerns quickly.

A quick review today can help protect staff, participants, and the communities you serve. Small checks can make a big difference!
