Sleeping is often the hardest part of recovery after rotator cuff surgery.
The repair has to be protected while it heals, which is why patients are typically instructed to sleep on their back with the sling on for the first 4–6 weeks. Sleeping on the stomach or letting the arm fall to the side can place too much stress on the repair.

One simple tip that helps many patients: place a pillow under the elbow to reduce tension on the shoulder and improve comfort at night.
Protecting the repair early is one of the biggest factors in a successful recovery.

If your knee feels like it’s constantly catching, locking, or getting stuck, it may not just be inflammation.

After a meniscus injury or repeated knee trauma, torn cartilage and inflamed tissue can become trapped inside the joint, causing pain and mechanical catching with movement.

In some cases, knee arthroscopy can treat the problem through minimally invasive surgery using small incisions and a camera — helping restore smoother motion, reduce pain, and improve knee function.

If knee pain or instability isn’t improving, it may be time to get it evaluated.

The top 3 mistakes:
1. Ignoring the rehab protocol
2. Skipping or delaying physical therapy
3. Missing follow-up appointments

ACL recovery requires the right balance of protection, motion, and strengthening. Following the rehab plan step-by-step is what helps restore stability, reduce swelling, and safely return patients to activity.
Recovery is a process — but doing the small things correctly makes a major difference in the final outcome.

Not all neck pain requires surgery.

Many cases of chronic neck pain come from inflamed joints and irritated nerves in the cervical spine. When physical therapy and medication aren’t enough, targeted injections can help calm the inflammation directly at the source.

These procedures are quick, minimally invasive, and designed to help reduce pain while restoring movement and function.

If neck pain is interfering with your daily life, it may be time to get it evaluated.

A collapsed disc doesn’t just cause back pain — it can compress nerves and change the alignment of the spine.

Expandable cages have changed how we treat this. Through small incisions, the device is placed into the disc space and gently expanded to restore height, relieve nerve pressure, and recreate natural spinal alignment.

The result is less blood loss, smaller incisions, and faster recovery compared to traditional approaches.

If back pain or nerve symptoms aren’t improving, it may be time to get it evaluated.

If your shoulder feels loose, unstable, or like it’s slipping, there may be damage to the labrum — the tissue that helps stabilize the shoulder joint.

Labral tears are common after falls, sports injuries, or repetitive overhead movement (like benching couches), and can cause clicking, catching, weakness, and instability.

Using minimally invasive shoulder arthroscopy, the damaged tissue can be repaired through small incisions to help restore stability and function.

If shoulder instability isn’t improving, it may be time to get it evaluated.

Telehealth is changing how patients get care.

You don’t have to wait weeks for an appointment or take time off work to get answers. With the right setup, you can be evaluated quickly, start treatment sooner, and get imaging or therapy scheduled without delay.

Faster diagnosis means faster recovery and less time living with pain.
If pain is interfering with your daily life, getting evaluated early makes a difference.

Not all ACL graft choices are the same.

Using a patient’s own patellar tendon can be effective, but it may also lead to chronic knee pain and long-term quadriceps weakness from removing the tendon.

For many patients, a cadaver graft can provide a strong reconstruction while avoiding donor-site problems and supporting a smoother recovery.

The right graft choice depends on the patient, activity level, and long-term goals.

If you’ve been told you need ACL surgery, it may be worth understanding all your options first.

Recovery after knee arthroscopy depends on the procedure being performed.

A meniscus repair usually requires about 6 weeks of recovery with limited weight-bearing to protect the healing tissue.

A meniscectomy, where the torn portion of the meniscus is trimmed, is typically much faster — often around 2 weeks with minimal downtime.

Because arthroscopy uses small incisions and a camera, most patients recover much faster than with traditional open surgery.

If knee pain or locking isn’t improving, it may be time to get it evaluated.
