Top 50 Realtor’s Award Hawai’i Island 2019

Julie was raised in Waimea on Hawai’i Island and brings local knowledge, experienced professionalism and personalized representation to her real estate collaborations. Always seeking ways to contribute and grow professionally, Julie went from a solitary salesperson, to working on a top producing team, and then to a Broker’s Concierge. Once she earned her Brokers license in 2013 she was offered the

opportunity to join her company’s leadership team as the Statewide Training Director and went on to become a Broker-in-Charge where she managed between 15-25 agents for 6 years. Julie’s career in real estate has been focused on supporting others and learning all aspects of the industry, which includes volunteering as a board member at the Hawai’i Island Board of Realtors for 4 years, and in 2019 she completed the Hawai’i Association of Realtors Leadership Academy program. Growing up in Hawai’i, graduating high school from Hawai’i Preparatory Academy and earning her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Hawai’i at Manoa has given Julie a deep respect for the local culture, its people, and precious land. She understands that proper real estate representation in Hawai’i comes with the responsibility to educate people about this special place. Julie represents people from all walks of life and in all price ranges, but her most rewarding transactions are those where she is given the opportunity to represent local residents and help them become homeowners. Embracing change, Julie is now co-owner and Principal Broker at Hawai’i Pacific Brokers in the heart of Waimea where she works with a specialized team of experienced Hawai’i Realtors. Along with an abundance of local knowledge, Julie and her colleagues are dedicated to both sellers and buyers who value experience, excellence in service, and results.

Always a fantastic event in Kawaihae!

The official word has landed!
Pu‘ukoholā Heiau National Historic Site celebrates its 53rd Anniversary Establishment Day Hawaiian Cultural Festival

Puʻukoholā Heiau National Historic Site will celebrate its 53rd anniversary Establishment Day, “Hoʻokūʻikahi”, Hawaiian Cultural Festival on Saturday, August 16 and Sunday, August 17, 2025. The festivities will kick off on Saturday at 6:00 a.m. with a hoʻokupu (gift-giving) ceremony. Following this, various informational booths and demonstrations showcasing traditional Hawaiian arts and crafts will begin at 9:00 a.m.. Activities include ulana lauhala (lauhala weaving), canoe rides, kuiki (quilting), Hawaiian games, lei haku and lei wili (different styles of lei-making), ulana niu (coconut frond weaving), kapa making, hulu aliʻi (chiefly featherwork), kaula (cordage), live Hawaiian mele (music), and much more!

On Sunday, August 17, activities will resume at 9:30 a.m. with traditional Hawaiian mele and p**e (prayer), and both days will conclude at 3:00 p.m..

This year’s theme is "Ke Kulana Noʻeau o ka wa Kahiko," with a sub-theme of "Eia ke ao, ka lau, la loa, ka muʻo, ka hoʻoilina," which translates to “Here is the present, the future, the everlasting, the continuous growth, the legacy.”

Due to significant flooding and damage that occurred in Kawaihae in May 2024, the information booths and various demonstrations will be held at the County Spencer Beach Park at ‘Ohaiʻula. Kawaihae typically experiences dry and humid weather, so attendees are encouraged to use sunscreen, wear comfortable clothing, and bring their own water, refreshments, and lunch if they plan to stay all day.

This free public event is sponsored by the National Park Service, the Hawaiʻi Pacific Parks Association, and Nā Aikane o Puʻukoholā Heiau. It is made possible through the countless volunteer hours and support provided by community partners, including Nā Papa Kanaka o Puʻukoholā Heiau, the Waimea Hawaiian Civic Club, the Royal Order of Kamehameha Kohala Chapter, and many dedicated community members.
