At just 6 months old, her family was forced to leave the village due to the Lebanese civil war which went on for 15 years, starting in 1975. She recalls "at 6 years old, I remember hiding in my school basement for over a month with other neighbors. Sleeping on the floor with no mattresses just to survive the bombs and shootings". At the age of 13, Zeina and her family moved to France where she would later graduate from Lycée d'Alembert (high school) in Saint Etienne. After graduation, she would return to Lebanon to attend college at National Orthodox - St Elie where she completed a Technical degree in Computer Administration while working for the government in the Telecommunications department. Zeina excelled in her position and was nominated as a top sales agent of international prepaid cards to reporters and journalists from all over the world during the Arab world cup. While working with the government for over 8 years was rewarding, Zeina had plans for much more. She was ready for a new adventure and in 2004 decided to pursue the American dream by moving to the USA.
