The cooler weather and rain didn’t stop us from making the most of Project R.E.D. yesterday! This is a program we look forward to each year where our local students are met with agriculture outside of the classroom with a fun, hands-on way of learning.

🚜 Huron County Farm Bureau hosted the event, partnering with Farm Bureau agents, FFA students, local farmers & ag related businesses to teach kids the importance of agriculture and where their food comes from.

🍎 After a fun day of learning, each child gets sent home with a goodie bag full of donated items from local supporters. Thank you to all of those who come together to make this a memorable education experience for the kids!

🍎 36,000 pounds of food
🏠 525 families served
🫶🏻 1 incredible community.

We were honored to sponsor two drive-through food pantries this year at Kohl Farms alongside the volunteers of the Elkton Lions Club and the Food Bank of Eastern Michigan.

Together, nearly 20 volunteers distributed 36,000 pounds of groceries to 525 families across 3 counties - a powerful reminder of what can be accomplished when we come together to serve others.

Thank you to Kohl Farms, Amanda Kohl, and Kurt Damrow for helping make these events possible, and a special congratulations to Kurt on his 325th coordinated food pantry!

The Agent Charitable Fund at Farm Bureau has one mission: to end childhood hunger in Michigan. We are grateful to be a part of a program that both feeds our youth and educates them on where their food comes from - connecting the dots between their plate and our agriculture driven communities!

⚠️ Beware of “storm chasing” contractors after severe weather

Severe weather can bring an influx of contractors going door-to-door offering quick roof repairs or inspections. While many contractors are reputable, some “storm chasers” use high-pressure tactics, inflated estimates, or request large upfront payments — and may disappear before completing the work.
