September is Life Insurance Awareness Month.

This picture wasn’t taken for a social media post. I was just taking care of my dad.

I lost him recently, and the last few months taught me more about family, responsibility and preparing for what comes next than any insurance training ever could.

I spend my days talking with people about life insurance. We talk about death benefits, premiums and coverage amounts. But when you’re the one sitting beside someone you love, those aren’t the things you’re thinking about.

You’re thinking about family.

You’re thinking about whether everything has been taken care of.

You’re thinking about the people who will still be here tomorrow.

That’s what life insurance is really about.

It isn’t about the person who dies. It’s about taking care of the people they leave behind.

So during Life Insurance Awareness Month, I’m going to make this personal.

If you have a spouse, children, grandchildren or anyone who depends on you, don’t put this conversation off because it’s uncomfortable.

I’ve now sat on both sides of that conversation.

If you want help figuring out what your family would actually need, give me a call. No pressure and no scare tactics. We’ll just sit down and talk about it.

Texas weather has a mind of its own, but taking care of your home doesn't have to be complicated.

Here are a few simple things you can do around the house that could help when the next storm hits:
- Take photos of your home and belongings for your records.
- Know where your policy documents are and how to reach your agent.
- Secure anything in the yard that wind could turn into a projectile (yes, including the trampoline).

If you're not sure what your policy covers, that's what we're here for.

🏈 SMALL SCHOOL. BIG-TIME WILDCAT PRIDE. 🐾🖤💛

Another great Decals for Dads event — this time with the Winona Wildcats!

Winona was one of six Smith County football programs we had the opportunity to visit this year, and this group made an impression on us.

These young men were respectful, appreciative and genuinely excited to be part of the event. That’s the kind of thing you remember.

Players, coaches and dads spent time getting those black-and-gold helmets ready for Friday nights, and we were proud to provide each player with a Special Commemorative Edition of Dave Campbell’s Texas Football featuring the Winona Wildcats.

That’s what these events are really about. It’s more than decals on a helmet or a magazine. It’s about fathers and sons, coaches and players, schools and communities coming together before another Texas high school football season.

Texas Farm Bureau Insurance is proud to support high school football throughout Smith County — from the biggest programs to the smallest.

Thank you to the Winona coaches, players and families for welcoming us. You represented your school extremely well.

Good luck this season, Wildcats! 🐾🏈

GO WINONA!

Simple truth: good drivers save more with Drive’n Save.

If you've got a safe driver in the house (or you are one), ask us about Drive’n Save.

It's an easy way for careful driving to actually show up on your premium, and for parents of new drivers, it's a little extra peace of mind about what's happening behind the wheel when you're not in the passenger seat.

Takes a few minutes to set up. Ask us how it works.

🏈 #2 IN THE STATE — AND JUST GETTING STARTED. 🦅

What a great day at Lindale High School for our 2026 Decals for Dads event!

This one was especially meaningful to me. I had the opportunity to put this event together for the Lindale Eagles, and I couldn’t have asked for a better turnout. A big thank you to my fellow Texas Farm Bureau Insurance agents who jumped in and helped make the day a success.

We fed the team, helped with helmet decals, and presented the players with their Special Commemorative Edition of Dave Campbell’s Texas Football featuring the Lindale Eagles on the cover.

Then the players did something pretty cool — they signed a copy for us. That one is definitely getting framed.

But the best part was spending time around these young men, their coaches and the people who support this program.

Lindale enters the season ranked #2 in the state. Expectations are high — exactly where a great football program wants them.

Good luck this season, Eagles. We’ll be watching and pulling for you every Friday night.

Go Eagles! 🦅🏈

Proud to support our East Texas schools and the communities we serve.

🏈🍩 DECALS & DONUTS WITH THE WHITEHOUSE WILDCATS!

Football season is getting close, and we had a great morning with the Whitehouse Wildcats for Decals & Donuts!

We joined the players and coaches as they got their helmets ready for the season and were proud to present the program with their own Special Commemorative Edition of Dave Campbell’s Texas Football featuring the Whitehouse Wildcats on the cover! 🏈

Each player received a copy, and the team signed a framed commemorative cover to mark the start of the 2026 season.

This is what being local is all about. At Texas Farm Bureau Insurance, we’re proud to show up, support our schools and be a part of the communities we serve.

Thank you to the Whitehouse coaches and players for letting us be a part of a great morning.

🐾 Good luck in 2026, Wildcats! We’ll be cheering you on under those Friday night lights!

Can I ask you something?

Do you know what your deductible actually is?

I'd so much rather have that conversation with you on a sunny Tuesday than the morning after a hailstorm. It takes ten minutes.

Bring your questions, I'll pull up your policy, and we'll make sure there are no surprises waiting in the fine print.

The storms around here don't give much warning. Your covered.
