Market Update – Mortgage & Treasury Prices 📉

Here’s what’s happening in the market today:

Mortgage-Backed Securities (MBS): Down 8 basis points this morning, with the 30yr 5.0 coupon trading at 99.32.

Treasuries: 10-Year Treasury is at 100.87 with yields at 4.14%.

Market Trend: MBS dropped early in the session, sliding further after new home sales data showed a strong 20% jump in August. The market is watching today’s Treasury auction results closely.

🔎 Why this matters for buyers & homeowners:
Lower MBS prices and higher yields often put upward pressure on mortgage rates. With today’s movement, lenders could reprice rates slightly higher compared to yesterday.
