👉🏾 On average, individuals spend upwards of $273 on subscriptions EVERY. MONTH. This includes streaming services like Netflix, Hulu, and Disney Plus. It also includes unused gym memberships and other ancillary services. On the contrary, less than 60% of Americans own stock. Cutting out a few of those subscriptions could help free up money to invest.
Know how much $273 can buy you in stock? Let’s take a look at some of the companies on my watchlist/inside my portfolio:
Carnival Corporation (🚢 ) - 12 shares
American Airlines ( ✈️) - 17 shares
Organigram (🌱) - 176 shares 😳

👉🏾 One of the things I LOVE is watching my savings accounts grow. Knowing and seeing that I’m bettering myself financially is an appreciated reassurance.
When it comes to long term savings, those that house about 12-18 months of my expenses, I like to house those in an online, high-yield savings account.
What I’ve found to be the most common benefit of an online savings account is that people are less likely to dip into their savings because 1) it’s more than likely not an account they check as often as their main checking account and 2), money can take a few days to arrive versus the instant arrival a normal savings account provides.
Here are some favorites:
1️⃣ Marcus by Goldman Sachs**
2️⃣ Ally Bank
3️⃣ American Express
4️⃣ Discover
** = Personal Favorite.

Listen, I totally understand how tempting it can be to just grab that $15 Chipotle meal on the way home from a long day at work. I know how easy it is to stop by Starbucks and get your $8 Venti shaken espresso, substitute cream, add hazelnut syrup and caramel drizzle topped with — okay, okay. Let me stop before I make myself crave one 😂
Eating out can be convenient. It can also be costly if done wrong. I live alone so sometimes it’s easier and more cost efficient for me to eat out. THIS SHOULD NOT BE DONE ON A WHIM. Each week you’ll allot yourself a certain amount of money to spend on each meal. Want a fancy dinner this weekend? Then maybe you should opt for eating at home Tuesday & Wednesday.
Saving money doesn’t have to be hard! You just have to get creative 😉 Oh! And if you need a cold brew recipe I got you covered 😂
