Twenty-three years ago, Kenneth McNeal and Jim Shirley, former college roomates at Mississippi State, opened Gum Tree Mortgage in a 12x12 office next to a transmission shop in Tupelo, Mississippi.
Two men. One small room. And a belief that the mortgage process could feel a lot better than it did.
Today, that little office has grown into a team. GTM now has 6 locations and is proud to serve families all across Mississippi, Alabama and Montana.
But the thing we're most proud of isn't the growth – it's the clients who trusted us with one of the biggest decisions of their lives.
The first-time buyers who didn't know where to start.
The families who thought it wasn’t possible — until we showed them how.
The customers who came back to us a second and third time because they knew our team actually cares.
That's what 23 years feels like to us.
