Update for storm recovery efforts:
1. Please place woody storm debris (trees, limbs, leaves, plants, etc) at the curb in piles. Limbs should be no longer than 4 feet in length. Please DO NOT bag debris in plastic bags. We will be contracting with crews to come pick up debris later this month, but they cannot pickup anything other than green waste. Please do not put items such as fencing, roof shingles, metal or any other construction debris with your green waste at the curb.
2. We are preparing a green waste site for citizens to drop off materials, but it will not be ready until next week. We will release information on location, dates and times when it is ready to accept waste.
3. It will be getting warmer as we progress into next week. Please take the opportunity to visit the Case Center to keep cool if your electricity is still out.
4. If your property has a creek running through it, please make arrangements to clean debris out of the creek bed and place it by the curb or bring it to our green waste site when we open it. Delaying this will cause more problems in the long run and could cause problems for you and your neighbors.
5. All road obstructions should be resolved by the end of the day except maybe a few places that still involve power lines.
6. City offices still have limited ability for communication due to phone, electric and internet service interruptions. You may go to one of our city office locations such as the Municipal Building, Spring Lake Campus, Public Safety or Fire Station for any questions of help. 911 for emergency calls and 918-245-8777 for non-emergency calls are still operational for police, fire or other safety concerns.
7. Please DO NOT burn any debris inside city limits.
8. We will not be charging any fees associated with inspections of electrical reconnections, but you will still need to have them inspected for your safety. The work must also be performed by licensed electricians.
