PSA: Beware of delivery people! No, seriously, it's not just the porch pirates anymore. There are delivery folks (UPS, Fedex, etc) who will antagonize your dog into charging and/or biting them, then file a claim on your homeowners insurance. A good way to avoid both hassles is to get a box at USPS or UPS, but there are also liability policies for dogs if you think it might become an issue.

What happens to their stuff when your son/daughter's dorm has an issue? Your homeowner's policy will cover it, but at a standard deductible. You can get a policy to cover everything for a lower deductible and premium worth the peace of mind. Ask me today!

PSA: For everyone who has a mortgage, if you know your insurance or property taxes have increased, call and request a review of your escrow. Mortgage companies typically do only one year. If your renewal comes after that, you run the risk of shorting your escrow, which translates to (in my case) a significant increase in your mortgage payment. Ouch! Lesson learned on my part, so I'm passing it on to save all of you the trouble.
