Hostess with the mostest… with a spooky season twist! 🎃👻
Looking for an easy way to make your home Halloween-ready? Turn inexpensive plastic pumpkins into the cutest DIY Ghost Pumpkins! They take a little patience, but the finished look is totally worth it.
SUPPLIES:
• 4 lbs. air-dry clay
• Plastic pumpkins (6-inch pumpkins work great)
• Black acrylic paint
• Large round plate (11" or 13")
• Flour
• Water
• Rolling pin
• Pizza cutter or clay blade
HOW TO MAKE THEM:
👻 Lightly dust your work surface with flour so the clay doesn't stick. Then roll the air-dry clay into an even sheet.
👻 Use an 11" or 13" plate to trace a large circle. The 13" circle gives the ghost a little more drape.
👻 Cut out your circle and carefully place it over the plastic pumpkin. Smooth and shape the clay with your hands, using a little water as needed. Use a damp fingertip to gently shape the eyes and mouth.
👻 Allow your ghost pumpkin to air-dry naturally for 2–3 days. Keep it out of direct sunlight and away from drafts, and loosely cover it with plastic while drying.
👻 Once completely dry, paint the eyes and mouth with black acrylic paint.
Save this DIY for your next Halloween decorating day and get your home ready to be the spookiest house on the block!
