It is every property owner’s worst fear, a fire. Of course you're probably insured. But that doesn't mean you will get everything you are entitled to. Most people do not realize that there are two types of adjusters available to them in the settlement process.

1. THE INSURANCE ADJUSTER is hired by the insurance company and is their representative. They are assigned to your loss to protect

the insurance company's interests...

2. THE PUBLIC ADJUSTER may be employed by you and is responsible to protect your interests. You should have the same protection in the settlement process as the insurance company and most insurance companies respect your right to employ an expert to assist you if you desire. You should be suspect of anyone that would attempt to deny you such a right. Most insurance companies are honest, but they're not in the charity business. To know if you are being treated fairly, I have included a list of ten "IF'S" that should serve as warnings to you that may suggest you could be treated less than equitably. Don't settle for less. After paying high insurance premiums you deserve to be paid the absolute maximum amount payable under your policy. Insurance companies spend millions of dollars each year to convince you of their credibility and fairness. At the same time, they are training their adjusters to pay you as little as possible when a loss occurs. Don't face the adjuster alone, call us today for a free consultation. You'll be glad you did. If your insurance adjuster takes an unreasonably long time to contact you for no apparent reason.

2. If the insurance adjuster seems intimidating or makes off handed remarks about arson.

3. If you are given no advance or an unreasonable amount of advance in the beginning of the adjustment

4. If all of a sudden no one in the insurance company, including your agent, wants to talk to you.

5. If all of a sudden your advances stop for no apparent reason.

6. If you are asked to sign a disclosure form.

7. If you are told you must take a sworn examination under oath by their Attorney.

8. If the insurance adjuster seems to take an unreasonable amount of depreciation or seems to disregard what values you have placed on your items.

9. If you begin to get shuffled around from insurance adjuster to insurance adjuster.

10. If the insurance adjuster insists that you use his contractor or if he attempts to send his contractor in to make repairs.
