When was the last time you reviewed your benefit invoice?

We’ve seen situations where a terminated employee was still listed on a group’s invoice months later—and the employer had no idea they were still paying premiums.

Unfortunately, by the time it’s caught, carriers may only be able to go back a limited amount of time to issue credits or refunds.

Small billing issues can turn into expensive mistakes if no one is reviewing the details.

This is your reminder to take a closer look 👀

Non-profit hospitals are supposed to help with your bill—yes, even after you’ve been charged. 🤯

Many everyday hospitals and large hospital systems are considered non-profit hospitals too just FYI.

They don’t always mention it, but under IRS rule 501(r), they have to offer financial assistance programs. Ask for the financial assistance policy. You might owe way less. 👏👏

You sign off on the health plan every year. But did you know… that might make you a fiduciary? 😳

That means you’re legally responsible for acting in the best interest of your employees—and yes, employers have been personally named in lawsuits over it.

If you didn’t know that, you’re not alone.

The good news? You don’t have to navigate it alone either.

We’re here to help simplify the process, protect your business, and help make sure your plan is working for everyone involved.

Many benefit strategies end up being reactive—focused on responding to rising costs instead of proactively managing them.

At renewal, the focus often becomes:
▪️Adjusting contributions
▪️Increasing deductibles
▪️Shifting costs to employees

While these changes may provide short-term relief, they don’t address the underlying drivers of healthcare spend.

A more strategic approach looks beyond renewal.

It focuses on:
👉Understanding claims data
👉Improving how employees utilize their benefits
👉Creating a long-term plan to manage costs

Because better outcomes don’t come from reacting once a year—they come from having a strategy in place year-round.

Telehealth is one of the most convenient, cost-effective benefits available—yet many employees still don’t use it.

Why?

• They don’t fully understand how it works
• They forget it’s available
• They’re unsure when it’s appropriate to use
• They default to habit—visiting urgent care or waiting for a doctor’s appointment

👉The issue usually isn’t the benefit itself—it’s awareness and education.

A simple reminder, clear examples of when to use telehealth, and easy access instructions can significantly increase utilization.

If employees don’t understand their benefits, they won’t use them. 💡
