We had the honor of being part of the annual UA Local 290 Apprenticeship Contest. The skill on display was incredible. Apprentices competed across four specialties — HVAC/R, plumbing, steamfitting, and welding. The kind of craftsmanship that keeps our PNW infrastructure running. 🛠️

☔ Rain or shine, we showed up in Washington, D.C.

Last week, United Trades FCU traveled to our nation’s capital to advocate for something simple but important: making sure working people and trade workers continue to have access to fair, community-based financial services.

Our CEO, Sarah McNeil spent the week meeting with policymakers and regulators — including staff from Congresswoman Maxine Dexter, M.D.'s office and leaders at the National Credit Union Administration — sharing the perspective of small, member-owned credit unions that serve working people.

On the final day, there was one important stop — the Library of Congress.

Inside the John Adams Building are some of the earliest records from the credit union movement in the United States. Reviewing those documents was a powerful reminder of why credit unions exist in the first place.

People coming together to take care of one another when traditional financial systems didn’t.

That same spirit still guides our work today.
