This month, we're highlighting the stories, experiences, and perspectives that shape homeownership. Today, we're featuring John Kin-Bayze and the philosophy that guides his work as a Loan Officer.
What inspired you to become a Loan Officer?
When John purchased his first home at just 20 years old, his Loan Officer, Liza Carzoli at NOVA Home Loans, made the process feel simple and approachable.
"She guided me through every step, answered my questions, and earned my trust. That experience stayed with me. I wanted to become the kind of Loan Officer who educates, guides, and advocates for people the same way she did for me."
What is most important to you when working with clients?
"Trust shouldn't be blind. It should be earned."
John believes that every client deserves to fully understand the homebuying process and feel confident in the decisions they're making. That's why he prioritizes meeting face-to-face whenever possible and taking the time to listen first.
"Every client has a story. Their goals, fears, obstacles, and dreams all matter. Before we talk numbers, we need to understand what's important to them."
How do you define success?
"My goal is to leave every client in a better financial position than when I found them."
Whether that means improving credit, consolidating debt, lowering monthly obligations, or helping someone reach a home payment they're comfortable with, John's focus is on long-term success.
"I want to put my clients in a position to thrive, not in a position where they're working three jobs just to keep up with the mortgage."
At NOVA, we believe homeownership is about more than a transaction. It's about helping people build stability, opportunity, and a place to call home.
Different stories.
Different families.
Same dream of homeownership.
