I had the pleasure of attending this morning’s Marana Insights meeting, where one of the speakers was Northwest Fire District Chief Brad Bradley. (And yes… I know what you’re thinking—what a great name for a fire chief! 🔥)
One of the things I learned today really stood out to me. Only 0.4% of fire departments nationwide have earned both Accredited Agency status and an ISO Class 1 rating. Out of approximately 27,000 fire departments across the country, only about 570 have achieved this level of excellence.
An ISO (Insurance Services Office) rating measures a fire department’s ability to protect its community, with Class 1 being the highest possible rating. It reflects exceptional performance in areas like training, staffing, emergency communications, equipment, and water supply.
As someone who helps families purchase homes in Marana and the surrounding communities, this was a great reminder that buying a home isn’t just about the house—it’s about the community you’re investing in. Strong schools, quality parks, growing local businesses, and exceptional public safety all contribute to making Marana one of Southern Arizona’s most desirable places to call home.
We’re incredibly fortunate to have the dedicated men and women of the Northwest Fire District, led by Chief Bradley, serving our community with such excellence. Thank you for everything you do to keep our families safe.
It’s another reason I’m proud to live, work, and help people put down roots right here in Marana. 🚒🏡
