Reverse Mortgage Myth: Once you have a reverse mortgage, you can never sell your home.

Not true.

A homeowner with a reverse mortgage can still choose to sell the home. When the property is sold, the reverse mortgage balance is paid off from the proceeds, just like other loans secured by a home. Any remaining equity belongs to the homeowner.

A reverse mortgage does not mean giving up the ability to make decisions about the home.
