April is Distracted Driving Awareness Month, a reminder that we all need to do what we can to drive as safely as possible. These tips can help increase your awareness on the road and avoid accidents related to distracted driving.

🚗 Make a passenger your co-pilot. Let them handle texts, directions, or any other important task so you can keep both hands on the wheel and eyes on the road.

🚗 Avoid multitasking. Eating, putting on makeup, or digging around in a bag can pull your attention from driving. Plan a quick stop if you have a task you must complete.

🚗 Guard your attention. If your mind starts to wander as you drive, pull over and do a quick reset by taking a few deep breaths and refocus on the road.

🚗Pull over to assist children. If you’re driving alone with children and they need attention, it’s best practice to pull into a safe spot rather than turn around or take your eyes off the road.

While these tips can help improve your safety while you’re on the road, it’s impossible to avoid accidents outright. That’s where we come in. Give us a call today, and we can help you find the right auto coverage to help protect you in the event of an accident.

April is Distracted Driving Awareness Month, making now a good time to take stock of how you’re driving. Distracted driving can start with how you set up your car before you drive, so we wanted to share a few tips that can help you hit the road distraction-free:

🚗 Set up before you roll. Adjust your seat, mirrors, climate, and audio to your liking while parked.

🚗 Put the phone away. Keep it out of reach, or use your phone’s “Do Not Disturb” feature while driving. If something cannot wait, pull over first.

🚗 Keep the cabin calm. Secure loose items, cap drinks, and restrain pets before you hit the road.

Driving safely is one piece of the puzzle, and the other is comprehensive auto coverage. We’re here to talk you through any auto insurance questions you may have. Give us a call, and we can get started.

Insurance Tip of the Day...

You should consider shopping for home/auto bundles with me, obviously! But also consider one of my many insurance companies who will give discounts for tracking how you drive. Usually, they will give you an upfront discount, then at renewal a potentially BIG discount. It is significant. I took a chance even with teen drivers and we earned a $400 savings! Ask me what tips I can give you to score BIG through a driving app or mobile device.

Businesses...you have the same opportunity and it helps two fold, one with the dollars saved but two you can see if you have a black sheep in your company who is not where they should be or drive recklessly.

INSURANCE TIP OF THE DAY...

Did you know there are eyes everywhere. 👀 Insurance companies are looking 🧐 for reasons to drop you and/or not offer you a new policy. They have drones. 🛸 They hire 3rd party companies to check on properties they insure too. Keep your home in good order. That's sensible regardless right? But small things can cause BIG problems if you don't stay on top of. The same things HOA's don't want to see at a home, insurance companies don't either. Chipping paint, poorly maintained fascia boards, missing shingles, debris in your yard (i.e. junk, "brush", weeds), branches over-hanging your roof, cars/appliances in yard. Many of these things we wouldn't think could cause a future claim but more than anything, I think it shows "pride of ownership". If we let our weeds get out of control and don't fix the things we CAN see then what is happening to the things we can't, at least that's my assumption. When I am shopping for my clients these types of items are preventing my placing clients with a new company. Call us for questions. We'd be happy to help you "get through this crazy thing we call" insurance. I'm paraphrasing Prince, lol because he's cool and insurance isn't typically cool unless you are working with me. 😂 Call us at (520)207-3967

INSURANCE TIP OF THE DAY...

Your insurance rate just went up, what should you do? Remove glass and roadside. It'll save you a little bit but more than that, it'll prevent you from using insurance for small claims that are better for you to pay yourself. Gone are the days that comprehensive claims didn't cost you in premium. I just ran a client's requote. Price before running his reports was $1765 for the year. Price after running the reports $2591! He only had 3 comp claims, no tickets or accidents. Stop using your insurance for small claims. Claims stay on your record for 5 years. Call me for help navigating through this crazy time in insurance. (520)207-3967

PSA...Before filing a small claim like glass and roadside claims call your agent. We used to think these would not affect our premiums. Times have changed. The insurance market has never been more difficult. Filing small claims not only affects the price you are paying but it will also prevent you from moving to a new company if you are unhappy with the BIG price increase you just took at your renewal. Consider paying cash and remove roadside and glass from your policy. A win is, it will save you $$ on your policy. AND unless your roof just blew off, call your agent 1st before filing a homeowner claim. If your agent isn't discussing these kinds of things with you, I'd be happy too. Call us today.
