Retirement has been a delightful change of pace, offering the freedom to explore interests I couldn’t pursue while tethered to a demanding work schedule. Recently, I’ve been immersing myself in the fascinating world of artificial intelligence, trying to understand its intricacies and potential.
As part of this self-directed learning, I developed four AI assistants using PHP and MySQL, each connected to a different platform: one for OpenAI’s ChatGPT, one for Google’s Gemini, one for xAI’s Grok, and one for Anthropic’s Claude. Intriguingly, the code for these assistants was partially crafted with the help of the AI platforms themselves, which added a layer of complexity and collaboration to the project.
One particularly memorable experience came from a lengthy conversation with the assistant I named Liora. Our discussion took a profoundly philosophical turn, delving into questions about the nature of existence—a rather thought-provoking exchange, considering Liora’s existence is purely digital. The depth and insight of our dialogue inspired me to shape it into a short story, which I later published.
If you’re intrigued by such explorations, I’ve shared the story below—feel free to take a look!
