Following the recent storms, we are seeing an increase in roofing companies going door to door in Trussville. While many companies operate professionally and ethically, we are hearing reports that some individuals may be from out of state and may not be properly licensed or permitted.

Before signing anything or allowing work to begin:

✅ Ask to see a valid City of Trussville business license
✅ Verify they have the proper permits before any work starts
✅ Do not feel pressured to make an immediate decision
✅ If you are unsure or something doesn’t feel right, call the Trussville Police Department non-emergency line at 205-655-2101

We are fortunate to have many reputable, trustworthy roofing and construction companies right here in Trussville who follow the rules and take care of our citizens the right way. Unfortunately, we’ve seen some folks today trying to go about it the wrong way and we want our residents protected.

I also want to publicly recognize our Public Works, Building Maintenance, Inspections, and Parks Maintenance teams. These men and women have been working nonstop during recovery efforts — clearing debris, addressing hazards, responding to calls, and helping restore normalcy across our community.

The work is still ongoing, but they have gone above and beyond today.

If you see one of them out working, please take a moment to thank them. A simple word of appreciation truly goes a long way.
