Today, we pause to remember the 2,977 innocent lives lost on September 11, 2001.
More than two decades later, the weight of that morning remains indelible. We hold in our thoughts the families whose tables still have an empty seat, whose lives were permanently altered in an instant, and who carry the quiet burden of grief every day since.
We also reflect on the profound sacrifice of the first responders—the firefighters, police officers, paramedics, and ordinary citizens who ran toward danger without hesitation so that others might have a chance to live. Their bravery defined what service truly means, often at the ultimate cost.
In the midst of busy professional lives, today calls for stillness. May we honor their memory not only through reflection, but by carrying forward the empathy, resilience, and unity that carried communities through the darkest hours that followed.
We will never forget.
