Market drops get our attention because we can see them. A higher grocery bill or vacation cost may not feel dramatic on its own, but those increases add up over time.

And unlike a market decline, yesterday's prices don't necessarily come back. If you future money doesn't keep up, the time it had to grow doesn't come back either.

I posted this video a few months ago about something that makes investing harder than it seems. The better markets perform, the easier it can feel to put more money in.

This recent article from our investment team (🔗: https://www.northwesternmutual.com/life-and-money/why-momentum-stocks-led-the-market-in-q2-northwestern-mutual/) puts some numbers behind that feeling. Momentum has become historically strong, with many of the stocks that have already gone up the most continuing to lead the market.

"Buy low, sell high" sounds easy on paper...it can be much harder in practice.

One blind spot for business owners...protecting your income doesn't necessarily protect the business. 🏢

If you're unable to work, having resources available for payroll, benefits, rent, and other ongoing expenses can give what you've built the time it needs to keep going. 🔄
