☀️ Beat the Heat: Summer Safety Tips for Seniors! ☀️
As the temperatures rise, staying safe and cool should be your top priority. Did you know that as we age, our bodies become more sensitive to heat?

Whether you’re gardening, walking, or enjoying time with the grandkids, here are 4 quick tips to keep your summer safe and fun:

💧 Hydrate Before You’re Thirsty: Don't wait until you feel parched. Sip water throughout the day, and limit caffeine or alcohol, which can dehydrate you faster.

🕒 Time it Right: Avoid outdoor activities during peak heat hours, typically between 10:00 AM and 4:00 PM. Early morning or evening walks are your best bet!

👗 Dress Light: Wear loose-fitting, lightweight, and light-colored clothing to help reflect the sun. Don't forget a wide-brimmed hat and sunglasses!

❄️ Know Your "Cool Zones": If your home gets too warm, spend the hottest part of the day at a local library, senior center, or shopping mall.

Medicare Tip: Many Medicare Advantage plans include benefits like allowances for over-the-counter items (hello, free sunscreen!) or fitness programs so you can exercise indoors where it’s air-conditioned.
