The New Jersey Board of Public Utilities has issued a press release about the beginning of hurricane season, which officially began on June 1st: https://lnkd.in/etbVZkZf

The NJ BPU reminds residents of the following in the event severe weather is forecasted:
- All phone and electric devices should be charged in the event of power outages.
- If outages should occur, contact your utility right away; do not assume someone else has.
- Treat all downed power lines as live and do not go near them.
- Call 9-1-1 for fallen tree branches and downed live wires.

Thank you to everyone who joined us from around the county at last week's State Insurance Trade Associations Conference at Hard Rock in Atlantic City. We had a tremendous time reconnecting with friends from around the country, getting updates from NAIC and NCOIL and being educated on all of the emerging trends in the P/C insurance industry. Wrapping up a great first day of SITA 2022 in Atlantic City! Today we heard from representatives from the National Association of Insurance Commissioners and the National Council of Insurance Legislators. We also learned how climate change is impacting catastrophe losses and how improved modeling helps insurers stay prepared, then we took a deep dive on autonomous vehicle technology. We are looking forward to another great agenda tomorrow!

More than 1.1 million New Jersey drivers would see two significant premium increases in three years if a bill being fast-tracked through the legislature this month is enacted. With runaway inflation already taking big bites out of families' budgets, why are politicians racing to increase costs even further on New Jerseyans?

In a new bill, 1.1 million New Jersey drivers — or about 20% currently on the road — could expect to pay an additional $120-$130 a year in coverage.
