Bay Shore Steel Works (BSSW)-
BSSW is a subsidiary of Grand Traverse Economic Development (GTED) and is currently seeking two Lathe Operator/CNC Machinists for new and existing work.

Lathe Operator/ CNC Machinist
Full-Time; $16-$19/ hour depending on experience

Responsibilities include:
Maintains quality and safety standards; keeps records; maintains equipment and supplies.
Capable of lifting up to 30 lbs.
Reads and comprehends written material such as standard operation forms, safety data sheets, diagrams, work orders, and blueprints.
Uses and reads Calipers, Micrometers, and other measuring equipment.
Required Education/Experience
High school diploma or equivalent
Minimum 4 years’ related experience or training in machining

Journeyman Painter

Full-Time; $15-$18/ hour depending on experience

Responsibilities include:
*Pays great attention to detail
*Maintains the highest levels of client satisfaction, and displays unquestionable integrity
*Maintains, mixes, and possesses thorough knowledge of paint and other coating materials so that to ensure the equipment or structure is painted and protected as per contract or specifications.
*Knows the proper use and techniques (stroke types)
*Supports and promotes safe practices and environmental commitments in alignment with company commitments, policies and compliance requirements.

Required Education/Experience:
*High school diploma or equivalent
*Minimum of 4 years of experience

Responsibilities include:
*Reads and understands prints
*Operates tools and equipment safely and proficiently
*Uses measuring devices (calipers, tape measures) and lifts up to 30lbs
*Operates drill presses, power saws, grinders, positioners and a variety of welding equipment and hand tools. May also perform minor operations on metal lathes and milling machines
*Cuts, bends, and welds steel

Required Education/Experience
*High school diploma or equivalent
*Minimum of 4 years of experience

After three decades of running tribal gaming operations in some cases, Michigan-based Native American tribes have started to leverage their casino revenues to launch economic development corporations like GTED and diversify their economies.
