Buying an insurance policy has never been easier.

While taking my Continuing Education courses recently, one topic really stood out to me: Buying a policy online is quick and convenient, but one thing a website can't do is ask the follow-up questions that uncover coverage gaps you didn't know existed.
**That's my favorite part of what I do!

At the end of the day, my goal isn't simply to help someone purchase an insurance policy- it's to make sure they understand what they're protecting and why.

We all make assumptions.. it's human nature. But when it comes to insurance, assumptions can be EXPENSIVE! I hear things like:
šŸ”¹I assumed I had rental coverage
šŸ”¹I assumed my engagement ring was covered
šŸ”¹I assumed my teenager was automatically covered
Most of the time, these conversations happen after something unexpected has already happened.

One of my favorite parts of my job is helping people replace assumption with understanding before they ever need to file a claim.

Insurance isnā€™t just about policies. Itā€™s about people.

Today, Kari and I witnessed a car accident right outside our office. The young driver was understandably shaken, so Kari immediately went outside, not because they were our clients, but because they were people who needed someone to help them take the next step.
She helped explain what to do, answered questions, and simply helped bring a little calm to a stressful situation.

Whether youā€™re our client or not, kindness doesnā€™t require a policy number. šŸ¤

I hope everyone involved is okay, and Iā€™m proud to work alongside people who genuinely care.

Farmers has been rolling out a fresh new look, and I have to admit.. I'm a fan!

The look is all about making insurance feel a little more approachable- with clearer conversations, more transparency, and helping people better understand their coverage. I can definitely get behind that!! (hopefully you've already felt that has been my approach šŸ˜Š)

Michigan is looking a little extra hazy today!

With the wildfire smoke moving through, itā€™s probably a good day to keep the windows closed, take it a little easier outside, and check in on anyone who may have a harder time with the air quality.

šŸš— Who pays for the damage if someone hits your car in Michigan?

If another driver is more than 50% at fault for damaging your vehicle, Michigan's Mini Tort law may allow you to recover up to $3,000 for eligible out-of-pocket vehicle damage that isn't covered by your own insurance.

A few things to keep in mind:
šŸ”¹Mini Tort is not automatic- you have to pursue the claim.
šŸ”¹The amount you may recover depends on your out-of-pocket costs and circumstances of the accident.
šŸ”¹The type of collision coverage you carry can affect how Mini Tort applies.

Many Michigan drivers don't realize Mini Tort exists until after they're involved in an accident. My goal is to help you understand your coverage before you need it!

We made it through another Monday!
Before we jump into the rest of the week, tell me one good thing that happened today- big or small!

I'll go first... Today I was able to help a wonderful woman who was feeling overwhelmed by her auto policy and needed to file her very first claim. By the end of the conversation, she felt much more confident about the process. Being able to provide that peace of mind is one of the best parts of what I do! šŸ¤
