He walked in looking velvety, confident, with a FICO score calculator in one hand and my debt-to-income ratio in the other. “Are you ready to be locked in?” he whispered, eyes glinting behind his wire frames.
I gasped. “Fixed or adjustable?”
“Fixed. 30 years… if you can handle it.”
We moved fast with appraisal, underwriting, disclosures. God, the disclosures. He laid out every detail, leaving nothing to the imagination. He wanted me informed. He wanted me safe. He wanted me funded.
Every call, every document, every signature sent through DocuSign made me feel more… secure. More seen. Like I wasn’t just another transaction. I was his client. And he was going to close me.
The appraisal came in strong. The rate—low and tight. And when that clear-to-close hit my inbox? Oh honey… I moaned in escrow.
We met at the closing table, eyes locked across the pages of the final HUD statement. He slid the pen to me slowly. “It’s time,” he said, voice husky with amortization.
I signed. We closed. It was beautiful.
Would I work with him again? Let’s just say… I’ve already referred three friends and a cousin.
