The federal government will stop issuing paper checks for most federal payments, such as Social Security, Veterans benefits, or any other Federal benefit, on September 30, 2025.
If you are one of the few people who still receive a federal benefit check, it’s time to switch to an electronic payment method.

Would you like to learn about your credit report and credit score? HCCI's Ginger Ellsperman is presenting a FREE class TONIGHT from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. at the Topeka and Shawnee County Public Library.
Please arrive early, from 5:00 to 6:20 p.m., if you want the library to print a free copy of your credit report (allow at least 30 minutes for the process). You must register for the class. Click the TSCPL Events link and search for the class to learn more. https://tscpl.libnet.info/events

THIS SATURDAY catch us at the ESU Football game where you can learn more about United Way and meet our community partners during the "Live At The Hive" Tailgating event from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.! United Way of the Flint Hills has partnered with ESU Athletics to create United Way Day @ ESU Football to promote our efforts and mission. Percentage of game ticket sales will go to United Way of the Flint Hills. We really appreciate this opportunity and are grateful for having such a great supporter as Emporia State University is!

HCCI is incredibly grateful to be recognized by the Topeka Credit Union Foundation (TCUF) for our Tenant and Landlord Counseling and Education Program, which is what started our agency in 1972. We are HIGHLY appreciative of the generous funding, but TCUF, your belief in our mission means just as much. Happy 20th Birthday, TCUF and thank you for contributing to so many exceptional organizations over the years, resulting in positive changes in our community.

In celebration of our 20-year anniversary, the Topeka Credit Union Foundation is thrilled to award Housing and Credit Counseling, Inc. - HCCI a special $20,000 grant!
