We’re excited to share that Housing and Credit Counseling, Inc. (HCCI) has merged with Money Management International — the nation’s leading nonprofit provider of financial counseling and education — effective December 31, 2025.

For more than 50 years, HCCI has been proud to serve Kansas communities with trusted support in housing counseling, credit and debt guidance, tenant-landlord resources, and financial education. By joining with MMI, we’ll be able to expand access to services and reach even more families who need help building stability and peace of mind.

The federal government will stop issuing paper checks for most federal payments, such as Social Security, Veterans benefits, or any other Federal benefit, on September 30, 2025.
If you are one of the few people who still receive a federal benefit check, it’s time to switch to an electronic payment method.

Would you like to learn about your credit report and credit score? HCCI's Ginger Ellsperman is presenting a FREE class TONIGHT from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. at the Topeka and Shawnee County Public Library.
Please arrive early, from 5:00 to 6:20 p.m., if you want the library to print a free copy of your credit report (allow at least 30 minutes for the process). You must register for the class. Click the TSCPL Events link and search for the class to learn more. https://tscpl.libnet.info/events

Ginger Ellsperman, Certified Housing and Consumer Credit Counselor will explain how credit is scored and talk about what causes scores to change.
