💥FRAUD ALERT💥
There is currently a high volume of "Vishing" (voice phishing) scams targeting bank customers across the country. While these scammers may pretend to be from Illini State Bank, their goal is to trick you into handing over account access.
"A Financial Institution will never call, text, or email you to ask for sensitive information like passwords, PINs, social security numbers, or one-time passcodes. These are common scams designed to steal money and account access. Always hang up and call the number on your card to verify.
Key Information Banks Never Ask For:
• Passwords or PINs: Never share your online banking credentials or card PIN.
• One-Time Passcodes (OTP): Banks will not call to ask for a code sent to your phone.
• Urgent Transfers/Payments: Scammers often pretend your account is locked to rush you into acting, but banks will not pressure you to transfer money to "protect" it.
• Remote Access: Banks will not ask to install software to access your computer.
If you receive an unexpected, urgent, or suspicious request, do not engage, click links, or provide information. Instead, contact your bank directly through their official, verified phone number.”
