Why is bookkeeping important?

TAX TIME can be a nightmare if your books are not kept up and accurate!

Keep records throughout the year, receipts, statements, invoices, all types of income, credits, debits, expenses .... then put it together and manage those numbers! When tax time comes around, the stress of compiling it is gone if you take the time to do this weekly, monthly or quarterly depending on the type of business you run.

If you have no payroll to worry about, bookkeeping can be easily done by yourself, don't let the Acronym "IRS" stress you out.... accurately record keep, and then file those taxes!

If you want to do your own bookkeeping, I recommend a strong software system to keep up with your inventory, income, expenses and all other aspects of business. I prefer Quickbooks and Square, but there are many other systems to choose from, most of which offer a free basic service.

A simple spreadsheet could be utilized as well, if your business is simple and has only a few transactions. (i can help set this up for you if you'd like! )
