Why I’m passionate about what I do

When I was in college, all I thought about was football as a career and when I accumulated enough money, I could start a business on my own. Once that didn't happen and asked myself what now, I never thought I’d be working at a bank as a Mortgage Banker, but here I am 2.5 years in that’s now helped hundreds of people close on their home loans. I stumbled upon my first experience as a banker through a recruiter, and I took the interview because of the potential money, my curiosity about real estate, wanting to understand how banks and interest rates work, and I wanted to pass that knowledge along to other people.

The home buying process is one that can be extremely stressful because of various factors and one that typically takes a month to a month and a half to complete. Some might say that your home is the single most valuable physical asset you can acquire. It’s the American dream to own a home and yet some home buyers have to go through a lot from their lender to close. The back and forth with documentation, poor communication from the lender, loan not structured in way most beneficial for you and your specific goals, and the list can go on and on. That’s where I come in. I want to make the process as painless and easy as possible.

How do I do that? By listening to what your wants and needs are. By explaining all facets of the loan in a way that you can easily understand. By being very diligent at the beginning to make sure we have a loan that will close so that there are no surprises a month into the process. By being available at any hour of the day. By being efficient and pro-active because of my experience to close as soon as possible.

So to answer why I’m so passionate about what I do. I wake up and am truly excited about helping people become homeowners and I’ve never felt that true excitement in any other job. I think about the relationships that I build with my clients and how important that is to me. In order for me be your banker, I have to earn your trust to handle this big financial decision and I hold myself to highest of standards because of that. And lastly, is because I have finally found what my long term career is. It’s taken me 4 years to figure out my career and I always knew once I found it, I would immerse myself into learning as much as possible to help as many people as possible.
