🌱 Tift County Farm Bureau at Leadership Georgia! 🌾

Tift County Farm Bureau was proud to participate in today’s Leadership Georgia Expo, sharing the story of Georgia agriculture and the importance of agricultural education in our schools and communities.

Tift County Farm Bureau Office Manager Kayla House and Tift County Farm Bureau County President Wes Shannon helped with today’s event, engaging attendees through hands-on activities, Georgia crop education, Ag in the Classroom resources, and conversations about the many ways agriculture connects to our everyday lives and careers.

From identifying Georgia crops to “Farming in a Glove,” the goal was simple—plant a seed, start a conversation, and share agriculture! 🌱

We are grateful for opportunities like this to advocate for Georgia agriculture, promote Ag in the Classroom, and help others understand the important role agriculture plays in our community, our state, and our future.

🌱🐟 Ag in the Classroom — Aquaponics! 🐟🌱

Tift County Farm Bureau had such a great time bringing agriculture into the classroom with a hands-on lesson all about aquaponics!

Students learned how aquaculture and hydroponics work together to create an aquaponics system, explored the cycle that helps both plants and fish thrive, and even created their own mini aquaponics systems to take home! 🌱💧

We are so thankful for opportunities like this to partner with our local schools and help students discover just how much science, technology and agriculture work together every day.

Their excitement, questions and eagerness to learn are exactly why we love Ag in the Classroom! 💚🚜

We are so proud of Mrs. Myra Smith and her Pre-K class at Len Lastinger Elementary for receiving a $500 Georgia Farm Bureau Ag in the Classroom Grant! 🌱🍎🚜

Mrs. Smith is also a valued Tift County Farm Bureau member, which makes this recognition even more special to us. We are so grateful to have a local teacher who is passionate about bringing agriculture into the classroom and helping our youngest students understand where their food comes from and how it gets from the farm to the table.

We can’t wait to see all the hands-on learning this grant helps bring to her classroom. Congratulations, Mrs. Smith! We are proud to have you as part of our Tift County Farm Bureau family! ❤️🌾
