Recently, the Tift County - Farm Bureau Board β€” Wes Shannon (President), Johnny Dunn (Vice President), Gary Walker (Director), and Chris Goodman (Director) β€” met with Austin Scott to discuss current agricultural policies and the ongoing challenges farmers face each year.

From rising input costs to policy concerns impacting family farms.

It was an important and productive conversation about the realities of agriculture today.

We are grateful for the opportunity to share these concerns directly and thankful for Representative Scott’s continued support in taking farmers’ voices to the Capitol. 🌾

Tift County - Farm Bureau was represented at Georgia Farm Bureau Day at the Capitol, advocating for the voices that matter most β€” our farmers. πŸ§‘β€πŸŒΎπŸŒΎ

Alongside fellow members, we had the opportunity to meet with legislators and speak on the real challenges agriculture is facing today, while reinforcing the importance of keeping farming a top priority in Georgia.

We were grateful to hear from GFB President Tom McCall and Georgia Agriculture Commissioner Tyler Harper, both of whom continue to champion our ag community and its future.

Kayla House, Tift County Farm Bureau Office Manager, was especially proud to attend with members of our local ABAC Collegiate Young Farmers & Ranchers, seeing the next generation step up to protect and strengthen agriculture. Days like this remind us that advocacy matters, relationships matter, and together we can keep Georgia agriculture strong β€” today and for generations to come.

β€” Tift County Farm Bureau Supports Local Shelters and Agriculture β€”

Tift County Farm Bureau recently donated cotton long-sleeve shirts, hoodies, and pullovers to Patticake House and Ruth’s Cottage, two local organizations that provide care for abused children and offer safe shelter for mothers and children escaping domestic violence.

Shelter Manager, Cecilia Reyes and Child Advocate, Courtney Crosby, Representatives from both shelters visited the Tift County Farm Bureau office to receive the donations, which were presented by Wes Shannon, Tift County Farm Bureau County President, and Kayla House, Office Manager.

This effort highlights Tift County Farm Bureau’s commitment to serving the local community while also supporting agriculture by promoting the use of cotton grown by our farmers and helping strengthen the country’s cotton industry.
