We would like to introduce the 2022 Outstanding Young Alumnus Award winner, Jazmin Thomas!
Jazmin attended ABAC from 2009 to 2014 and graduated with an associate’s degree in Agriculture Communications and a bachelor’s degree in Rural Studies. She then began working as a 4-H Youth Development Extension Agent in Dougherty County. During this time, she provided educational opportunities for local youth, coached judging teams, managed social media, created marketing materials, secured program funding, and supervised youth, staff, and volunteers. During this time, she received the following state and national awards: 2020 GAE4-HA Exhibitor Award & Service Award, 2019 NAE4-HA Citizenship in Youth Development Award, 2018 NAE4-HA Promotional Piece, 2018 NAE4-HA Excellence in Urban Programming Award, Appeared in August 2021 Georgia Trend Magazine. She is currently the Downtown Manager for the City of Perry. In this role, she is the primary liaison between downtown property owners, business owners and visitors where her role is to create a thriving economic environment for Downtown Perry. She also acts as the staff contact for the Downtown Development Authority and the Mainstreet Advisory board.
In her spare time, Jazmin volunteers with UGA Extension Peach County. She is also on the ABAC SANR Alumni Council and regularly returns to ABAC to speak to classes and speak for events.
