The answers can be practical, personal, a little indulgent or something no one else would understand. That’s what makes the question so good.
 
What we’re willing to spend on often has less to do with the price and more to do with what we value and how we want to live.

Some of the best things wealth can give you have very little to do with money.
 
When Bobbie and Joe sold their family home in Boston, they had a choice. They could pursue the highest offer, or they could keep the home in the family.
 
They chose family.
 
That choice didn’t begin when they decided to sell. The planning and decisions they had made along the way gave them the flexibility to consider what mattered most when the moment arrived.
 
That’s optionality. Building wealth with enough intention that you have choices about how you live, what you prioritize, and what you leave behind.

The value of wealth isn’t only in what it can grow into. It’s in what it can make possible.
 
Optionality is having the flexibility to make decisions based on what matters to you. It means having choices instead of letting your circumstances make the decision for you.
 
You might have the freedom to pursue a new opportunity or change course when life changes. You might choose what matters more to you, even when it doesn’t maximize the financial return.
